I’m Bella and I started this account back in 2016 to document my passion for food. It has evolved over the years from posting restaurant reviews in San Francisco, to recounting food adventures in Paris and Turin, to moving back to sunny Los Angeles and embarking on my personal health journey.

I believe in using food as medicine and following Michael Pollan’s principles of only eating food that your grandmother would recognize. Having personally put my autoimmune disorder (Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis) into remission through diet and lifestyle changes, I understand the power that food has on our health.   

My recipes are gluten-free and anti-inflammatory using local, sustainable, whole-foods rich in nutrients to support thyroid, gut, and overall health. Certain foods (namely processed foods, saturated and trans fats, refined sugar and grains, and the list goes on) contribute to inflammation in the body which has been shown to be a crucial factor in Hashimoto’s. 

Follow along for thyroid and gut-friendly recipes that prioritize high- quality protein, whole foods, fiber, and prebiotics/ probiotics. And if anyone is suffering from Hashimoto’s or another autoimmune disorder, I’d love to connect and share the diet/ lifestyle choices that helped me.
